Kayode Akintemi is an award-winning broadcast journalist, he started his career in the mid 1980s as presenter of Teen & Twenties Beat, then later as Reporter/News Anchor on Radio and Television stations in the South West of Nigeria. He resigned from his role as Head of Presentation at Ogun State Television, where he helped OGTV to set up his own production outfit before moving to United Kingdom in 1994.
Kayode is an award-winning broadcast journalist and he worked in the U.K. for over 15 years as an I.T. Systems Analyst, Application/Systems Developer, Management Information Systems(MIS) Analyst/Developer, ICT/Technical Project Manager and Radio/TV Content Developer. He returned to Nigeria in 2011 from the UK to head the operations of Channels Television as the General Manager, driving the team to achieve multiple awards during his 5year contract, and achieving unprecedented growth on air both terrestrial & digital and online/digital media. During his tenure as GM, Channels TV was recognized by YouTube as the leader in content development and upload in sub-Saharan Africa by any news television station on the continent.
He set up Plus TV Africa as a Pan-African News station, conceptualising and creating 90% of the content broadcast on the station. He led on the design, procurement and deployment of the infrastructure that is used to run Plus TV Africa. He joined Arise News Television as Executive Director in charge of Global Broadcast Operation and Digital Media in 2020.
Kayode was headhunted in May 2021 by Ignite Media Group, Ghana, owners of Metro TV, Original 91.9FM and Original TV all in Ghana and signed a 3years contract to run the group as Managing Director. Within six months, he overhauled and changed the direction of Metro TV, creating news content, training and mentoring young reporters & presenters to help achieve the new vision for Metro TV as Pan African News Television.
